What You’ll Do
The House Coordinator is responsible for the daily management and leadership of a supported independent living (SIL) residence under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This role ensures that high-quality, person-centered care is delivered to participants, in alignment with their NDIS plans, goals, and individual needs. The coordinator provides staff supervision, promotes a safe and inclusive environment, ensures compliance with relevant standards, and fosters strong communication between clients, families, and service providers.
Oversee and support the delivery of person-centered care aligned with individual NDIS plans.
Encourage and promote independence, choice, and inclusion for all residents.
Monitor and report on participant outcomes and wellbeing.
Team Leadership
Supervise, mentor, and support DSW's and residential staff.
Coordinate shift rosters, leave, and coverage to ensure adequate staffing.
Provide ongoing training, feedback, and performance reviews.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure service delivery aligns with NDIS Practice Standards, policies, and legislative requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and participant records.
Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Operational Management
Manage household budgets, petty cash, and resource allocation.
Oversee maintenance, safety, and cleanliness of the home.
Liaise with families, guardians, allied health professionals, and external stakeholders.
Crisis & Risk Management
Respond to and de-escalate incidents, applying behaviour support plans and crisis protocols.
Promote safe practices and support staff in managing challenging behaviours.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

Leadership Experience
-Proven ability to manage and support a team in a residential or disability care environment.

Strong Communication Skills
-Able to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and stakeholders through clear, respectful, and effective communication.

Attention to Detail
-Skilled in documentation, incident reporting, and monitoring compliance with NDIS Practice Standards.
Empathy & Integrity

-Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or related field (or working toward it)
-Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the disability or community services sector
-Current First Aid & CPR certification
-NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
-Full, unrestricted driver’s licence
-Knowledge of relevant legislation and NDIS Practice Standards
